November 22nd, 2025 I was invited to The Mom Market- Windsor for their 2nd Annual Holiday Market LaSalle. I was able to capture life long memories and moments for 38 different groups. I was so incredibly blessed to be able to capture these memories for so many families and friends who attended the market.
While at The Mom Market, there was a moment, where I just sat on the floor after taking pictures, and I asked my friend Emma(she's such a big supported and has been helping and is helping with events), I asked "how did I even get here?" not to the market, or to the location, but how did I go from this small town girl, a girl who has done two college programs but only has one diploma, a girl who had a child young, and a girl who had to face addictions and enter sobriety. I became this fearless women, who will do anything to make my dreams come true if not for myself, but for my own family. I've asked multiple people that same question and all the answers have been the same, " a lot of hard work, and dedication"
Less then a year ago I officially launched JDeVries Photography as a small business, my boyfriend and I weren't sure of the growth or potential I could have as photography is a saturated business area. But nonetheless I took that leap of faith, something I had contemplated doing long before now. I started this journey in Chatham and we moved just outside of Essex/Windsor and I wasn't sure what would happen for my business. But to my wonders came even more support, and even more potential clients.
Within 2 months of the move, I had booked the The Mom Market, and then I created my own even happening this weekend(December 6ht), and then booked a third event happening December 13th. The unwavering support I have received from other entrepreneurs and small businesses alike, and the community becoming clients.
In less then a year of starting the business journey, I can now say I have had a radio ad, a radio interview(special thanks to CKBG 107.9) and I've been in the local paper(The you Essex Free Press). I can also say that I've been a part of two vendor events, that I've created my own even, and that I can be at other events no matter the size.
Now on to the next two events! Both being held at The Fort Fun Centre in Amherstburg, Ontario. December 6th from 12pm(noon) till about 6 or 7pm and again December 13th from 2pm-4pm you can find me doing Holiday Photos for donation with all donations going to RMHCSWO. My main focus is the Windsor House, but I'm hoping if there's a large turnout for the events that I can also make a small donation to London.
